Our Story
High Country Blasting is a local, family owned business, operated by Clint Byrd.
Clint was born and raised in Boone, North Carolina. Being a High Country local, Clint has a great appreciation for the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and wouldn't want to live anywhere else! Clint has built a career for himself in the snow-making industry over the past 20 years. Over the past six years, he has created a successful business bringing the cutting edge technology of High Country Blasting to Boone and the surrounding areas. Clint's Dad, Kim, is a Foscoe native that has countless hours operating heavy equipment and Clint feels honored to have his Dad's help with blasting projects.
In his free time, Clint enjoys spending time outdoors, boating at Lake James, summer cookouts, competitive shooting....and hanging with his black lab and sidekick, Simon!. Clint and Lauren feel fortunate to raise their three children, Lila, Jake, & Audrey, in the beautiful High Country area.
