High Country Blasting is a local, family owned business, operated by Clint Byrd.
Clint was born and raised in Boone, North Carolina. Being a High Country local, Clint has a great appreciation for the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and wouldn't want to live anywhere else! Clint built a career for himself in the snow-making industry over the past 20 years. Within the past 6 years, he has created a successful business bringing the cutting edge technology of High Country Blasting to Boone and the surrounding areas. Clint's dad, Kim, is a Foscoe native that has countless hours operating heavy equipment and Clint feels honored to have his dad's help with blasting projects.
In his free time, Clint enjoys spending time outdoors, boating at Lake James, summer cookouts, competitive shooting, and hanging with his black lab and sidekick, Simon. Clint and Lauren feel fortunate to raise their three children, Lila, Jake, & Audrey in the beautiful High Country area.
High Country Blasting uses an abrasive media to clean any surface. This process is eco-friendly, using 100% recycled glass. It is safer for the environment than blasting with sand because it eliminates the silica dust plume. Our blaster can remove any coating from any material very quickly!
Our Media Blasting machine is versatile and can be used with other types of media ranging from very soft particles, such as soda, to very hard particles, such as garnet. The media used is determined by the type of surface being prepared.
Blasting is safe on any surface including steel, wood, aluminum, fiberglass, concrete, tile, stone, and many more! Using water creates less friction and heat to minimize the warping of sheet metal. Media Blasting creates a surface ready for any paint to be applied.
